February 4--Vilnius, Lithuania

Lazdynų Pelėda is the writer pseudonym of two sisters:
Sofija Pšibiliauskienė and Marija
Lastauskienė

Bionovus, a biofuel company that provides ecological and renewable energy products, has its largest bio-boiler in Vilnius. The company also owns the largest modern waste recycling facility in the country. Making biomass fuel from forest floor leftovers not only helps to stabilize CO2 emissions but it also helps revive rural economies. Biomass is the largest source of energy in the EU today. The latent power of biomass can be used for electricity, heat and liquid biofuels. Another plus for biomass is the fact that it can be used in many existing energy infrastructures with little adaptation.
